If you wanted to track open rates of your emails I would recommend use a program like Mail Chimp as Google Analytics can’t track email opens.
However what Google Analytics can do is track who is clicking links within the emails you send. This is invaluable information as this will help you identify what people are doing once they clicked a link from your emails.
Are they buying a product or turning into a lead? This is great because it can help identify the return on an email marketing campaign.
